“I used Bilitis’s services in a major home renovation project. I entrusted her with the mission of transforming the small house I’d bought in a sought-after area of Gatineau into a unique, bright and warm living space. Bilitis quickly drew up the plans for the house (including plumbing and electricity) that my general contractor would use to create a whole new one that better met my needs. Everything had to be rethought and redone: windows, flooring, tiles and ceramics, countertops, bathrooms, woodwork accents, storage spaces, interior and exterior colours of the house. Everything needed to be coherent and harmonious despite the many branches and complexities of this project. Over the course of this year-long venture, Bilitis was in constant communication with all stakeholders involved in order to manage and handle effectively the inevitable unforeseen issues that arise in a project of this scale. More so, Bilitis enabled me to benefit from her network of contacts (notably an extraordinary cabinetmaker) in order to achieve the quality and excellence standards she sets for herself. To remain consistent with the original vision of the house she wanted to create, Bilitis was then heavily involved in the décor of the interior of the house. Once again, almost every room needed updating: foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom. Everything was addressed — sofa, tables, chairs, canvases, lighting, accessories. In that respect, Bilitis was always able to identify and respect my tastes and preferences while not being afraid, when necessary, to steer me outside my comfort zone to create a home that reflects me. All of this was done while consistently respecting the budget targets I had set. Because of her exceptional talent, Bilitis enabled me to create a magnificent house that looks like no other on the market. I will never be able to thank her enough for the quality of her work and her irreplaceable contribution.”

“We had the chance to work with Bilitis on two occasions during renovations of our home. The first time was to redo the upper part of the house which included 3 bedrooms (one converted to an office), 2 bathrooms, 1 office, 1 walk-in, and replacing carpets with wood floors. During the second phase of renovations, we tackled 2 living rooms, a dining room, powder room, laundry closet and a kitchen/dinette and replaced the floors. We are finishing the second part of the renos soon. Clearly, this was a large-scale job that required many discussions not only about the materials to be used, but especially about the style that would suit my husband and me, since we liked two completely different styles: he was more classical and I more contemporary. Bilitis was able to marry our opinions and offer us options that met both of what we were seeking, making compromises on each side; but without ever feeling that one of us had prevailed over the other.
