Case Study — Tudor House, Aylmer

Tudor House
Domaine McConnell

Rethink, modernize… and ultimately, stay.

Context

With their children having moved out, the homeowners wanted to renovate their Tudor-style home with the intention of putting it up for sale. Their goal was to optimize space, improve functionality, and refresh the overall aesthetic—without losing the home’s original charm.

The Challenge

A spacious but poorly utilized home with an outdated decor.

•Large, undefined rooms,
•An overcrowded walk-in closet,
•An aging bathroom, and several areas needing reconfiguration to improve flow and cohesion.

What Happened

As the transformation unfolded, the home’s hidden potential came to life: enhanced brightness, better circulation, clearly defined zones, and a renewed sense of harmony.
In the end, the owners—enchanted by the newfound balance and warmth—decided not to sell after all, falling back in love with their home.

Key Interventions

•Rethought overall circulation
•Modernized key living areas
•Optimized space usage (converted alcove, reorganized walk-in)
•Redefined each zone with structure and purpose
•Created a warm, elegant atmosphere throughout

Result

A well-organized, welcoming, and balanced home—where every space now serves a clear function and enhances the couple’s daily life.
A transformation that exceeded expectations… to the point of convincing them to stay.
